Omaha Creighton Prep quarterback Easton Stick and wide receiver RJ Urzendowski have combined to be one of the most prolific high school passing combinations in the state, but it might not end there.
The duo might end up playing on the same collegiate team.
Urzendowski already has verbally committed to North Dakota State. The 6-foot-2 Stick said after Prep’s 35-27 win over Lincoln Southeast on Friday night that he is going to take a recruiting trip to NDSU — which is hosting ESPN’s “Game Day” show — this weekend.
“Right now South Dakota State and North Dakota State are (my) top two,” Stick said. “Nebraska is still recruiting me, too.”
If both players end up at NDSU, the Bison will have an electrifying pass-catch tandem. The pair combined for three touchdowns Friday night, including an 81-yarder and a 97-yarder.
“If they played together in college, wouldn’t that be fun?” Prep coach Chris Nizzi said. “We’ll have to wait and see if it happens.”
Stick completed 10 of 15 passes for 271 yards against Southeast while Urzendowski caught six passes for 218 yards.
