Creighton junior Eric Miller and freshman Fabian Herbers claimed defensive player of the week and rookie of the week honors from the Big East, it was announced Monday.
Junior Alex Bolowich also claimed a spot on the weekly honor roll.
Herbers scored the lone goal off of a free kick at 108:05 in double overtime against No. 7 St. John’s to secure Creighton’s first Big East victory and program win No. 400. It marked his second goal of the season, both game-winners. Herbers is tied for second on the team with two goals and six points.
Miller anchored the Creighton backline. He’s played every minute of the season, helping the Jays record three shutouts through six matches.
Bolowich picked up his third shutout with three saves against St. John’s. He boasts a 0.83 goals against average while allowing just five goals through six matches.
Creighton battles non-conference foe Michigan State Tuesday at 7 p.m. inside Morrison Stadium.
