Coastal Carolina 53, Elon 28: Lorenzo Taliaferro ran for a career-best 205 yards and three touchdowns to help coach Joe Moglia’s Chanticleers to a 5-0 start.

Valparaiso 49, Campbell 42, OT: Mike Minter’s Camels (1-3) amassed 567 yards of total offense in regulation, including 292 on the ground, but Campbell was held out of the end zone on the 1-yard line in overtime.

Rice 18, Florida Atlantic 14: Carl Pelini and the Owls (1-4) lost after Rice scored twice in the final 4 1/2 minutes.

UT Martin 17, Southeast Missouri 7: Tony Samuel’s Redhawks dropped to 0-4 after trailing 17-0 at the half.

Liberty 73, Kentucky Wesleyan 7: Turner Gill’s Flames (3-2) ran for five touchdowns.
