When Top 10 No. 3 Creighton Prep (5-1) has the ball: With Micah Rensch at running back, the Junior Jays have the balance they need to go with the passing threat of QB Easton Stick and WR RJ Urzendowski. Prep’s line will have to handle the Wildcats’ rush, led by Stanford recruit Harrison Phillips.
When No. 4 Millard West (5-1) has the ball: Senior QB Ross Drwal is the Wildcats’ most effective runner. Last year against Prep, his passes helped Skyler Monaghan set the single-game Class A receiving yardage record of 282. Think the Junior Jays might have a different coverage plan this time around?
Stu’s pick: Both teams are playing well. Millard West virtually sews up the district title with a win. A Prep win would be no surprise, but I’ll go with the Wildcats based on their roughing-up of Omaha Central last week.
