Soccer: UNO women hope to build on Summit start

The UNO women hope to build on their 1-0 start in Summit League play this weekend.

The Mavericks face North Dakota State (5-7, 1-1) at 5 p.m. Friday and South Dakota State (7-3-2, 2-0) at 1 p.m. Sunday.

UNO is 3-2-2 in its past seven games, with both losses by one goal. The Mavs’ average of 1.40 goals per game is a big improvement on last year’s mark of 0.78.

Melanie McCormick leads the Mavericks with four goals and one assist for nine points. Monica Bosiljevac also has nine points on three goals and three assists. Chelsi Rohloff has seven points on two goals and three assists. After scoring 14 goals all of last year, the Mavericks already have 14 in just 10 games.
