Nebraska I-back Imani Cross pushed his season touchdown total to eight with another scoring run in the third quarter against Purdue.

NU moved down the field after stopping a Boilermaker fake punt attempt, including a 17-yard pass from Ron Kellogg to Kenny Bell. Cross then scored on a 2-yard run on the next play as the Huskers went ahead 28-0 with 8:31 left in the third quarter.

Cross also had scored on a 1-yard run in the first quarter. He came into the game tied with receiver Quincy Enunwa for the team lead with six TDs.

Nebraska added a safety for a 30-0 lead later in the third quarter. Randy Gregory sacked Danny Etling as he was trying to escape on a play that started from the Boilermakers’ 17.

Also in the third quarter:

>> NU redshirt freshman Tommy Armstrong threw his second interception, this one picked by Andy James Garcia.

>> Etling, mostly having a rough day, had completions of 26 and 36 yards to DeAngelo Yancey in the third quarter for the Boilermakers’ only two first downs.

>> Gregory had two sacks in the quarter for NU. Greg McMullen added a third.

>> The last play of the quarter was a 33-yard run by Ameer Abdullah, taking the junior I-back over 100 yards for the game.
