Baseball America has rated Nebraska’s latest group of newcomers 11th-best in the country, the publication’s highest-ever ranking for a Husker recruiting class.
NU was the only Big Ten team included in Baseball America’s top 25 rankings. Collegiate Baseball recently ranked the group 26th nationally and second in the conference behind Michigan (20th).
It’s the first full recruiting class for Darin Erstad, who completed his second season last May. Most of the 16 players who are part of the class signed letters of intent last November and will become eligible to contribute for the first time this spring. Sophomore Wes Edrington is the only one who enrolled early and played for NU last season.
Nebraska completed its fall practices last week. The Huskers begin preseason practice in January.
