This doesn't surprise me anymore. It's just too bad that the responsible people have allowed this lack of respect to continue for so long (and I mean the last 4 yrs) w/o any consequences. And at 5-7 times what the President makes I hope the next coach is not a Bully. F Db Bo & GBR

I think your story hits upon how our winning tradition has changed as we went from our traditional smash mouth running offense ran by #3,#4 highest winnest % coaches at NU to the more pass oriented offense by Bill Calahan (2004) #19 and continued by Bo Pelini & Tim Beck #13. Do a story looking at and graphing win/losses by yr, coaches/style offenses, etc. Fact is Nebraska is more conducive in the midwest cold getting better running players than passing (qb, receivers, backs, lineman). Both Tom Osbourne found this out (switched from favoring pass as offensive coordinator in early 70's) to run w/ more success and Milt Tenopir outlined out in World Herald how recruiting and the the walkon program favors NU to be run oriented. A lot of young people will say watching running teams are not as exciting, but most were not around to judge the real excitement in 1970, 1971, 1994, 1995, 1997. Do the story with plenty of stat pool (back to 1970-almost 50 yrs)! Stats don't lie!!
