Nebraska senior basketball captain Ray Gallegos has been suspended for the first two regular-season games for what coach Tim Miles said Wednesday was “personal conduct.” Gallegos won’t be stripped of his captaincy.

Freshman guard Nathan Hawkins also will be out an undetermined period with a stress fracture in his foot.

With those two out, along with junior Deverell Biggs suspended for a prior violation of team rules, Nebraska will have nine scholarship players for Friday’s home opener against Florida Gulf Coast.
