Scouting UNO: The Mavericks play their third straight road game after falling to CSU Bakersfield (69-65) and Long Beach State (77-61) last weekend. UNO, which is 0-4 on the road, shot 31 percent from the field in the Long Beach loss. Ericka House scored a career-high 25 points against Long Beach and is fifth in the Summit League in scoring this season. Freshmen are making an impact: Madi Robson from Ankeny, Iowa, is second in the Summit in assists (5.1 per game), and Mikaela Shaw from Sandy Creek High School is sixth in rebounding (7.7 per game).

Scouting UNC: The Golden Bears evened their record Wednesday with a 74-71 win against Summit League member Denver. Stephanie Lee scored 21 of Northern Colorado’s final 27 points as she matched her career high with 29 points. She also broke the school record for free throws made in a game, going 17 for 18. Lee is the lone Bear averaging double figures in scoring. The Bears have lost by double digits to San Diego, Oklahoma State and UTEP.

Opening tips: UNO is holding opponents to 33.6 percent shooting from the field through seven games. The Bears are shooting 40.8 percent. … Northern Colorado leads the all-time series 23-10, but this is UNO’s first meeting since 2003 with its former North Central Conference opponent. … Kourteney Zadina, a freshman from Seward, is seeing some minutes off the bench for Northern Colorado, averaging a point per game.
