Scouting Air Force: Senior Cherae Medina had 19 points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals in Saturday’s 76-55 loss to Southern Illinois-Edwardsville. She leads the team in rebounds (4.3 per game) and assists (4.5). … Opponents shoot 46.6 percent from the field against the Falcons. … Air Force lost at home to Northern Colorado 71-60 on Nov. 12. UNO lost 78-73 at Northern Colorado on Saturday. … The Falcons are 1-1 against Summit League teams, losing at home to Denver 72-64 but beating North Dakota State 82-63 at home on Friday. Denver is picked to finish fifth in the Summit, while North Dakota State is picked last in the eight-team league. UNO is picked seventh. … The Falcons, 11-56 since the start of the 2011-12 season, were picked to finish last in the 11-team Mountain West Conference. The Falcons’ last winning season was 1992-93.

Scouting Eureka (Ill.): Last year, Caty Eeten averaged 22.2 points while shooting 53.2 percent (33 of 62) from 3-point range to earn all-conference honors for the second consecutive season. She was also the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s player of the year in 2011-12 when she averaged 22.8 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists. The senior is a preseason Division III All-American. … Also during a 16-9 season in 2012-13, Kelsey Shoemake averaged 13.3 points and 9.8 rebounds and was second-team All-SLIAC. She’s leading the team this season with 16.0 points and 11.3 rebounds, while Eeten averages 15.4 points and 8.2 rebounds. … The Red Devils were tied for second in the SLIAC’s preseason poll.

Scouting UNO: The Mavericks are 3-0 at home this season, with two of the wins against Division I opponents. … UNO leads all Summit League teams in field goal percentage defense (34.8) and 3-point percentage defense (26.8). … Felicia Anderson, a 5-6 junior guard, is averaging 10.8 points per game off the bench to rank second on the team among active players. … Freshman forward Mikaela Shaw from Sandy Creek High School averages 9.4 points and 8.1 rebounds and also hands out 3.8 assists per game. … Freshman forwards Victoria Trowbridge and Sami Pawlak combine to average 11 points and 10 rebounds off the bench while shooting a combined 55.9 percent from the field. … UNO was 2-2 against Air Force when the Mavs were a Division II program, with the last meeting an 81-63 victory in 1991. UNO has never played Division III Eureka. … UNO is 343rd of 349 teams in ratings as of Tuesday afternoon. Air Force is No. 333.
