UNO center John Karhoff was named the Summit League player of the week for Dec. 23-29, the conference announced Monday. The weekly award was the senior’s first of his career.
Karhoff scored a career-high 28 points, grabbed a season-best seven rebounds and had three assists during 29 minutes of play in the Mavs’ 104-88 victory Saturday at Central Arkansas. The 104 points were UNO’s most this season.
Karhoff, an Omaha Creighton Prep graduate, shot 10-of-13 from the field and made all eight free-throw attempts in the win. He scored 20 points in the second half, when he shot all of his free throws and went 6 for 6 from the field.
