World-Herald Sports Omaha World-Herald

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning joked Wednesday about the much-discussed “Omaha! Omaha!” audible. For background, check out this writeup from World-Herald columnist Mike Kelly.

“I’ve had a lot of people ask what ‘Omaha’ means,” Manning said at Wednesday’s press conference in advance of Denver’s AFC Championship matchup with New England.

“It’s a run play… but it could be a pass play, or a play-action pass depending on a couple of things,” Manning joked. The QB said, to the laughs of reporters, that factors include “the wind, which way we’re going, the quarter and the jerseys that we’re wearing.”
