As The World-Herald’s Saturday column previewing Nebraska’s Junior Day pointed out, the Huskers are unofficially hosting a bevy of 2015 prospects today. One of them, New Orleans Isidore Newman running back Kendall Bussey Jr. appears excited enough on his trip that he may commit this weekend.
“He is the No. 1 back on (Nebraska’s) board,” Kendall Bussey Sr. texted the New Orleans Times-Picayune. “They really like him a lot and he fits into their offense!”
The 5-foot-9, 195-pounder is currently (for a few more hours anyway) committed to Tulane. The Green Wave secured his commit last June, before Bussey’s junior year.
Currently unrated by the scouting services — not uncommon for a 2015 prospect — Bussey Jr. recently got an offer from Mississippi State along with the Huskers. According to the Times-Picayune, the junior had 974 yards and 18 touchdowns on 79 carries, as well as 31 passes for 408 yards and eight touchdowns.
Kendall Bussey Sr. played running back at Colorado.
