Scouting UNO: The Mavericks open the second half of the Summit League in last place in the eight-team league at 1-6, one game behind North Dakota State and Denver. The Mavs play five of their final seven league games on the road. … UNO has lost five straight games and seven of its last eight. … Senior guard Ericka House, shooting a league-best 90 percent at the free-throw line, has made 18 consecutive free throws. … Freshman Mikaela Shaw scored 17 against Western Illinois in the first meeting between the teams this season. … In league games only, UNO ranks first in blocked shots (3.6 per game) and third in field-goal percentage defense (.425), but is last in scoring (61.0 points per game) and field goal percentage (.387).

Scouting Western Illinois: Ashley Luke averages a double-double of 19.4 points and 10.4 rebounds, and her 14 double-doubles rank 12th nationally. She had 28 points and 12 rebounds in the Leathernecks’ 84-62 win in Omaha on Jan. 11. … WIU leads the Summit, in league games only, with 10.7 steals per game and ranks second with an average of 7.6 made 3-pointers. … Point guard Rebecca Henricson ranks fourth nationally in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.3 to 1) and 28th in assists (a league-best 5.5 per game). … WIU beat Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne 68-65 last Saturday, two days after IPFW won at UNO 81-71. …  Western Illinois beat UNO 71-44 in Macomb last season.
