The Creighton baseball team was picked Thursday to finish first in its inaugural Big East season.
The Bluejays claimed the top spot with 32 points and two first-place votes by league coaches.
Seton Hall claimed second with two first-place votes and 31 points, while St. John’s had 29 points and three first-place votes for third.
Creighton also had the conference preseason player and pitcher of the year in outfielder Mike Gerber and pitcher Tommy Strunc.
The Jays open the season with a three-game series at Arkansas-Little Rock starting Feb. 14.
