Softball: With break over, Bluejays head to Texas

Creighton heads to Arlington, Texas, for the UTA Hilton Invitational starting Friday.

The Bluejays (3-2) face Texas Tech at 2 p.m. Friday, followed by a matchup with UT Arlington at 6.

On Saturday, the Jays play the two teams again at 11:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. before closing with a 9 a.m. showdown with Illinois (8-2) on Sunday.

Creighton went 3-2 at the Kajikawa Classic and then had last weekend off.

Junior shortstop Liz Dike led Creighton in most offensive categories at the tournament, including hits (6), doubles (2), home runs (3), RBIs (8), total bases (17) and slugging percentage (.944). Ellen Homan topped CU in batting average (.357), runs (6) and on-base percentage (.471).

Senior ace Becca Changstrom, with a 2.03 ERA, picked up two complete-game victories and a save.
