SPOTLIGHT ON BIG BOYS: Saturday’s finals, in a break from tradition, will start with the 195-pounders, continue with the 200s and 285s and then return to the light weights. It’s to allow the day to end with 182-pounders JaVaughn Perkins of Omaha North and Will Schany of Blair on center stage as they go for their fourth titles.

CAN’T-MISS FINAL: Class A 138: Isaac DeLoa of Millard South, who won state last year as a freshman, meets Grand Island senior Andrew Rojas in what promises to be an intense match.

SEMIFINAL SURPRISES: In a round devoid of much drama, Jake Walker of Omaha Skutt at Class B 152, Connor Shedeed of Gretna at Class C 160 and Ben Lodema of Raymond Central at Class C 195 beat undefeated wrestlers to get to the finals.

ATTENDANCE REPORT: After Friday night’s turnout of 10,973, the two-day attendance count is 31,090. The consolation rounds Friday drew a total of 9,814. In 2013, the two-day total was 30,428.
